A Walk in the hills around Montacute in Somerset

A 6 mile walk on a lovely sunny (and hot) day in late September. After a hearty breakfast, we set off from The Kings Arms soon after 9am

The pub has an interesting sign by the front door - it made me laugh, anyway ...

Great views of the Somerset countryside - this is Montacute, where we're staying

You can see the apple orchards in the distance

Stopped at a country pub for lunch

And walked to the quarries where the beautiful honey coloured Ham stone has been quarried for centuries

We passed the Folly

Nearly home ... anyone looking for a film set?
